Woodcutting Guide in Runes of Magic

Woodcutting in Runes of Magic is one of three gathering professions in the game.

Runes of Magic, or RoM, has three gathering professions as of May 2009. These are the herbalism skill, the woodcutting skill, and the mining skill. With woodcutting, the player will go through the different areas and use an axe to cut down wood that is in their level range. These are used in production crafts like Carpentry.

Gathering Wood in Runes of Magic
As the character goes through the quests and the mob monster slays throughout the lands, there will be these glittery or glowing mounds of wood that the player will be able to interact with if they have the woodcutting skill.

Left clicking on the mouse will make an axe appear to chop the wood (this axe does not take up bag space). Wood will stack in mounds of 100. It is shown on the minimap as a stump so that the player is able to find where they are located.

RoM Wood
There are 15 types of wood that are currently in the game of Runes of Magic as of May of 2009. These are the wood and their required proficiency level needed to chop them.

Woodcutting in Runes of Magic
There are two carpentry items that show in the skills section. One will have the woodcutting ability the other the carpentry ability to make things such as bows. Clicking on the one for woodcutting will make timber and lumber.

To make timber and lumber the player will need to be near a Carpentry station to cut the boards. The character can choose the craft object and make 1, the maximum amount by click MAX, or any other number of items by using the “-“ and “+” buttons to adjust the amount.

Making Gold with Wood Gathering
Timber and lumber are often sold on the Auction House. A player should check the Auction house before they go to the Carpentry stations to craft their logs.

Determining what items are more in demand will result in the ability to sell at a better rate on the Auction House and will give more gold in their bank account and a higher skill level for the processing.
