Gathering in Runes of Magic RoM Crafting Professions
There are three gathering professions in Runes of Magic. These are able to be skilled up and leveled to create items for sale in the Auction House or ingredients in production professions. Mining will have the character picking ore out of nodes, Woodcutting will have the player chopping wood off stumps, and Herbalism will have the gamer picking herbs from mounds.
Runes of Magic Crafting Levels
Every crafting skill has four levels of skill. When a player has reached the top of their level they will have to test to move up to the next level.
Levels 1-20 are apprentice level of crafting of herbs
Levels 21-40 are craftsman level of crafting of herbs
Levels 41-60 are adept level of crafting of herbs
Levels 61-80 are master level of crafting of herbs
While a player is able to dabble in all of the professions, whether they are gathering or production, he is unable to max out all of them. Instead, they must have only one master level skill, three adept level skills, and six craftsman level skills.
Herbalism in Runes of Magic
Herbs will glow or glitter as a plant along the land, and no additional item is needed to pick these herbs. Appearing as a plant on the minimap, players can use these herbs to make bundles, sap, or extract. To refine herbs into any one of these three items the player will need to buy recipes from the herbalism trainer, have the necessary ingredients, the amount of gold needed to create, and be at an Alchemy station.
Woodcutting in Runes of Magic
Wood will glow or glitter as a stump along the land, and there will be a need to have an axe to cut it but it is automatic and will not take up bag space or inventory room. It will appear as a stump on the minimap and can use the wood to make timber, lumber, or planks.
To craft wood into any one of the three items the player just needs recipes from the woodcutting trainer, have the right wood in inventory, and the gold needed to make the item while being at the Carpentry station.

Mining in Runes of Magic
Ore will glitter or glow as a rock node around the area, and there will be a need to have a mining pick to mine the ore out (the pick will be automatic and not take up space in inventory of character). It will be a rock on the minimap for easier detection and characters can use the ore to make sand, nuggets, or ingots.
To craft ore into any of these three the player needs the recipes bought from the mining trainer, have the correct ore in the inventory, the gold it will take to craft the item, and be at a Blacksmithing station. There is a more complete guide to mining in Runes of Magic on this site.
Gathering in Runes of Magic is good as a money making venture for your character or as a less expensive way to boost your production skills without having to buy the ingredients on the Auction House.
